“Keep Thruth Alive” press conference held in Mongolia

The Globe International Center (GIC) held a press conference on November 1st, 2019 to commemorate the International Day to End Impunity for Crimes Against Journalists, as proclaimed by the United Nations General Assembly. This day spotlights the fundamental right to freedom of expression and its corollaries such as access to information, freedom of the press, and journalist safety.

Open Talks 2019 on Access to Information-Leaving No One Behind!

Open Talks was organized on the occasion of IDUAI by Globe International Center (GIC) and the Mongolian National Commission for UNESCO at the ICinema, 5th Floor of the State Department Store on 27 September 2019. Using the Right to Information: Training for journalists in Mongolia

On September 5-6, 2019, The Globe International Centre organized a training programme for Journalists and academics from the University of Journalism on “Using the Right to Information and Reporting on SDG Indicator 16.10.2”. The training programme was framed in the context of Mongolia’s 4th celebration of the International Day for the Universal Access o Information.

Globe International center joins preparation for Mongolian UPR

Mongolia is currently preparing the Universal Periodic Review (UPR) for the third cycle this year. The UPR is a state-driven process under the auspices of the Human Rights Council that gives states an opportunity to declare what actions they have taken to improve the human rights situations in their countries and to fulfill their human rights obligations.

Globe International Center (GIC), founded in 1999 to help sustain Mongolian democracy and civil society through spreading the power of information and knowledge, celebrated its 20th anniversary on July 5th, 2019. The goal of Globe International Center is to help the public to access information using all possible means of information and knowledge distribution, such as traditional media publications and new information and communication technology.

This year, the Mongolian National Commission for UNESCO and the Globe International Center organized an event on the occasion of the Day on 2 May in Ulaanbaatar. Ms Uyanga Sukhbaatar, Secretary-General of the Mongolian National Commission for UNESCO, Ambassador of the French Republic H.E. Mr Philippe Merlin and Ambassador of the Delegation of the EU H.E. Mr Traian Laurentiu Hristea gave opening speeches at the event.
