Over three months has passed since Luntan Bolormaa, a female journalist and publicist, was found dead at her home on the night of 21 November 2015. Bolormaa’s family members, friends, relatives, co-workers, the journalism community and the public are anxious for Police to investigate and report on her sudden death.

Odriin Sonin (Daily News) published an article titled: “Fact of laundering ‘New railway’ project’s 42 mln. USD in South Korea to be recorded” in issue No.279 on November 19, 2015. Undesnii Shuudan (National Post), a daily newspaper, also published two articles titled: “960 billion hidden behind an Amnesty Law” and “Private companies to be cheated by partnership” in issues No.156 and No.157 on August 19 and 20, 2015.

Globe International Center is implementing a project titled “Media Legal Reform” with the aim to advocate for enabling legal environment for better protection of digital freedom through harmonizing the existing legislation with Article 19 of the ICCPR. The project is supported by IFEX — the global network for defending and promoting free expression.

A total of 24 participants from three aimags’ NGOs and AFE CSO coalition members gained skills needed to sustain social accountability processes and social accountability tools via joint and separate trainings held 15-18 December, 2015 at the State Bank’s Main building.

A total of 48 participants attended the Inception Seminar aimed to reinforce discussions on the collective efforts of the stakeholders in the education sector at national and provincial levels: government agencies, civil society representatives and school staff and parents towards making the education services better.

On December 9-10, 2015 GIC organized a seminar on monitoring freedom of expression violations at Puma Imperial Hotel’s conference hall. It was attended by 16 representatives from media organizations/associations, lawyers, CSOs, including GIC, Confederation of Mongolian Journalists, Online Media Association, LGBT Center, National Center for Journalism Training and provincial representatives of CMJ from Darkhan, Dornod, Bayankhongor, Umnugovi, Arkhangai, Khentii and Nalaikh for monitoring freedom of expression violations.

CRAMO’s study learning team which consists of two people, namely Mrs. Ch.Yeruulsuren, project coordinator of the ongoing project funded by IPDC and Mrs. S.Ulziisaikhan, radio manager, "Melody of Taiga" community radio, Tsagaannuur soum, Khuvsgul province have visited Kyrgyzstan from 3 -8 Dec 2015.

The Round table “Freedom of Expression and National Legislation” dedicated to the IMED was organized by Globe International Center in cooperation of the Confederation of Mongolian Journalists (CMJ) on November 13, 2015 in Ulaanbaatar.

On 4 and 5 November 2015, the International Experts Toby Mendel and Charles Kriel met with MPs, legislators, government representatives, police officers, journalism and law students, journalists and creative workers of Mongolian National Broadcaster. The Mission targeted more than 140 stakeholders.

The round table discussion on the occasion of the International Day to End Impunity for Crimes against Journalists was jointly convened by Globe International Center, Open Society Forum and Confederation of Mongolian Journalists on 2 November 2015 at the OSF Conference Hall. It was supported by the UNESCO, Beijing Office and attended by 50 participants and 5 speakers, including Mr.Toby Mendel, Executive Director of the Centre for Law and Democracy.
