Globe International, a Mongolian NGO celebrated the WPFR on May 3, 2011 at the OSF Conference Room,  under slogan “Freedom To Journalists!” and it was attended by 55 journalists and media practitioners.  The event was moderated by G.Galaarid, Globe International Board Chairman. The meeting participants commerated the killed in 2010 journalists in other countries.

Web sites Guchin-Us soum of Ovorkhangai aimag (www.guchin-us.mn)  and Bayanhkutag soum of Khentii aimag(www.bayankhutag.mn) were launched by the project  “Transparency Campaigning” at Local Government to Curb Corruption started in August 15, 2010 under the funding of the Partnership for Transparency Fund (http://www.ptf.org/) which is aimed at improving the transparency of the local public organizations to curb corruption.

In January 2011, the Mongolian Ministry of Justice submitted to Parliament a Draft Law of Mongolia on Information Transparency and Freedom of Information. This is the latest development relating to ongoing discussions around adopting a right to information (RTI) law that have been taking place in Mongolia for many years now.

New York, 22nd March 2011 — On 21st and 22nd March 2011, the United Nations Human Rights Committee reviewed the fifth Report of Mongolia on the implementation of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights  (ICCPR).  In this context, NGOs produced a report, which details the main human rights violations in Mongolia.

Project team produced ten audio documentaries in the frame of the project.
