ABU COPYRIGHT SEMINAR, 20-21 JANUARY 2006

Greetings from the ABU!
We are pleased to invite your organisation to participate in the ABU Copyright Seminar to be held on 20-21 January 2006 in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia. The seminar will be organised by the ABU in cooperation with the Legalius Law Firm of Mongolia.
The seminar aims to raise awareness on the latest copyright issues affecting the broadcast industry and the need to develop strategies to protect copyright. We have already conducted similar copyright trainings for our members in other countries in the ABU region, and we are now looking forward to holding a copyright training for our members in Mongolia.
Copyright and Sports Rights Issues
The seminar in Mongolia will focus on copyright principles for broadcasters, music rights and licenses, rights of performers, and broadcasters’ rights under the proposed Broadcasters’ Treaty. We will also include a discussion on sports rights including the broadcast of sports programmes. Please see attached draft Programme for your reference.
The seminar will be conducted free of charge. We hope that you will take advantage of the opportunity by sending representatives to participate in the seminar.
