Globe International is applying for membership in IEFX, which will allow Globe International to join 64 other international and national NGOs working together to campaign for free expression around the globe. Mongolia is not presently represented in IFEX and, as a result, almost no information on free-expression violations in the country are disseminated to the international community.

It is important that Mongolians themselves play a lead role in making decisions about which cases merit international attention and how to best mobilize campaigns. Globe International membership is to be discussed by the General meeting of IFEX to be held in Brussels, Belgium on 19 – 23 February 2006.

The theme of the 2006 IFEX Conference is "Acting Together to Defend Free Expression" - with a focus on building effective campaigns to confront the growing threats to free expression and human rights nationally, regionally and globally.
