“Media and CSO are the true colors of vibrant democracy” project started

The Globe International Center started the implementation of new project “Media and CSO are the true colors of vibrant democracy” with financial support of The Asia Foundation (the Foundation). 

he project is aiming to provide a foundation for continuously building the capacity of local CSOs and media in Mongolia and improving their contribution to strengthening democracy by successful implementation of the Media and Civil Society Strengthening (MACSS) in Mongolia project. “Media and CSO are the true colors of vibrant democracy” is the first phase of MACSS project for 2023-2028 of TAF funded by USAID.

As the result of the project, GIC will identify the current situation and determine the specific training needs of local CSOs and Media organizations, and develop detailed outlines for at least three training modules. 

The project will effective from March 04, 2024, to May 03, 2024, and will identify the current understanding and determine the specific training needs of local CSOs and Media organizations on the following four topics: i. Management capacity, ii. The right to know and the right of free expression, iii. Monitoring and participation in local budgets and local investments, and role of local CSOs and media organizations in the implementation of social accountability, and iiii. Monitoring local elections and exercising civil and political rights and strengthening democracy. 

After successful implementation of 1st phase of the project there will be organized series of trainings and other capacity building activities to support local CSOs and Media organizations through helping the capacity of them as the continuation of MACSS project.
