The Guidebook “Right to know”is now available on the GIC’ website. it educates on the citizens’ right to direct participation and right to information, instructions on how to request information, types of information which must be open by the law and how to complain, if request is rejected as well as contains the full text of the FOI law.

May 3: World Press Freedom Day, Mongolia - Safe to speak!

Globe International Centre, Mongolian free expression NGO and the Mongolian Journalists Association under support of Open Society Forum, Mongolia marked the World Press Freedom Day 2013 on May 1, 2012 at the OSF Conference Hall. It gathered more than 75 politicians, officials, international organisations, NGOs, journalists and media practitioners.

Call to the Parliament

Today, the world is marking the 20th anniversary of the WPFD. Windhoek Declaration has been adopted in May 3, 1991 and it was first officially proclaimed during the United Nations General Assembly in 1993. The UN calls its State Parties to focus the WPFD 2013 on the theme of “Safe to Speak: Securing Freedom of Expression in All Media” and puts the spotlight in particular on the issues of safety of journalists, combating impunity for crimes against freedom of expression, and securing a free and open Internet as the precondition for safety online.
