In the frame of the project “Monitoring free expression violations and supporting the rights of independent media” Globe International has proposed to convene a monitoring training for local project staff to transfer a monitoring skills by project partners IFEX and CJEX.

One of 2 inter-related activities of the project to build the capacity of free-expression monitoring in Mongolia was to provide legal assistance for journalists. Mongolian journalists lack legal knowledge concerning how to exercise their professional duties and defend their rights.

On Monday at 15.00 December 19, 2005 at the conference hall of the Chamber of Commerce the Globe International NGO has organized the introductory round table on “Free expression violation monitoring” to raise awareness among Mongolian society of the need and importance of free expression.

On 25 November, last Friday night, the three selected candidates was involved to the TV debate. Members of National Board has questioned them regarding their future action plan. Some members of the newly established Collective Board have observed the TV debate.

Yesterday, 24th November the National Board of Public Radio & Television has selected 3 candidates out of 10.
